Why choose a Female Personal Trainer?

It might be stating the obvious to say that women are different to men, but often exercise and fitness programmes have been designed by men, for men.  Most exercise and nutrition related research has been carried out on men, and only recently have specific female studies become more common.

Women's bodies respond differently to exercise, and a female specific approach has the potential get better results.

 

It's no secret that as women get older things change.  The effect of the peri menopause and menopause on a woman's health can be significant and hard to cope with.   Weight gain, belly fat, low mood, trouble sleeping and concentrating are just a few of the problems I help my clients with.

As a nutrition expert I can also provide nutrition support, including recipes and plans to support weight loss if that is your goal, but also to make sure you are fuelling your body to be strong and resilient

My gym based personal training sessions take place at Fortitude fit gym in Edenbridge, Kent.  The gym is ideally located for surrounding towns and villages - Westerham, Oxted, and Lingfield are all a short drive away, and Edenbridge rail station is a 5 minute walk.   I also offer home visits to clients within a limited radius​​​​

I'm a 43 year old female Personal Trainer, juggling all the usual joys of a busy life alongside my career! I'm a wife, a step Mum to 2 teenagers and a dog Mum to 2 labradors

As a female personal trainer, I specialise in helping women who want to lose weight, build strength and feel good about themselves, no matter their age or stage in life​

Since qualifying as a personal trainer in 2017, I've helped many women improve their overall health and wellbeing.  I often work with complete beginners, some of whom haven't been to a gym before.  This isn't a problem at all and my approach ensures you feel comfortable and gain confidence in the gym in a supportive and enjoyable way.  

I predominantly train women who want the help, support and advice of a female specific personal trainer who understands things from a woman's perspective.  I also specialise in helping older adults with functional movement, strength building and overall fitness.

 

In 2023 I studied nutrition extensively, and this has been a game changer when it comes to helping women who want to lose weight in a simple and sustainable way​

My Story

 

At the age of  40, after almost 20 years of working full time in retail management I decided it was time for a complete career change!  I set out to follow my passion in helping others with their health & fitness and have never looked back.

I have always been an advocate of eating well and exercising to feel good.  I am a keen road cyclist, hiker and I climb mountains occasionally!  But I also know how it feels to be juggling a demanding job, a busy family life and trying to focus on yourself too.  I understand how hard it can be to prioritise your own wellbeing, but I also know how beneficial it is when you do.

 

Being able to relate to my clients, understand their struggles and empathise with them is a key part of how I work as a coach. I pride myself on being a truly personal trainer
